Salvation

There are many formats for leading someone to the Lord.  Here is one that is useful for many people.  This one is as easy as ABC:

  1. All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23) and “The wages of sin is death but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23).  Before you accept the good news, the bad news that everyone is sinful by nature and under the judgment of God must be acknowledged.

  1. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved” (Acts 16:31).  Believe that Jesus is the Son of God, accept Him as your Savior and Lord by faith and enter a personal relationship with Him by inviting Him to take control of your life.

  1. Confess Christ Jesus as Lord.  “If you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9)  Inward conviction must be accompanied by outward confession.

Here is a “sample” prayer of salvation you can use to lead someone to the Lord.

Oh God, I come to you in the precious name of Jesus.  I believe that Jesus is your son and that He lived a life without sin. I believe that He died on the cross and shed His blood for my sins. I receive forgiveness for every sin I have ever committed. Thank You for washing me in the blood of Jesus and making me clean inside. I believe that He died and rose again, victorious over death and the devil. I turn my back on my old life. I’m no longer going to live to please myself. I make Jesus the Lord of my life and I will live for Him every day. I thank You for loving me, accepting me and forgiving me and that I am on my way to heaven! In Jesus’ Name, amen.
